Stichting Wildlife

Stichting Wildlife is active in ZooParc Overloon, Safaripark Beekse Bergen, Eindhoven Zoo and AquaZoo Leeuwarden. The foundation is committed to various conservation projects and has all kinds of activities in the parks. These activities are provided by volunteers.

In ZooParc Overloon, guided tours, children's parties and theme days are organized by a friendly and enthusiastic team of volunteer guides from Stichting Wildlife. Due to the growth of our activities, we are regularly looking for more people who want to participate. Volunteer guides receive free training so that they can start working with solid knowledge.

Volunteer guide training

Anyone who is enthusiastic about animals and enjoys dealing with people can apply to become a volunteer guide at ZooParc Overloon. We are looking for people who can make themselves available for a few half-days per month. The working hours will always be agreed upon and put into a schedule.

To get started with the necessary knowledge and confidence, each volunteer guide is offered free training by the foundation. After successful completion of the training, guides know everything they need to know to work as a guide.

Training starts in the fall/winter and lasts approximately three months. Interested? Send an email to: info@stichtingwildlife.nl.

Objectives Stichting Wildlife.

The foundation works on 2 main objectives in several ways, namely:

  • Inform and educate about the world's endangered species.

  • Raising money for the protection of endangered species through donations and animal adoption.

Projects

Some of the projects Stichting Wildlife supports are:

  • SPOTS Foundation (lions and cheetahs).

  • Giraffe Conservation Foundation (netgiraffes).

  • Lemur Rescue Center (ring-tailed lemurs)

  • Biodiversity Conservation Organization (African wild dogs).

Each year, one of Stichting Wildlife's conservation projects is put in the extra spotlight, and ZooParc is happy to support it. Past years have included SANCCOB, Cheetah Conservation Botswana and World Land Trust Paraguay.

Project of the Year 2024

This year ZooParc is once again contributing to the project of the year. This time it involves two projects taking place in Asia. The Red Panda Network protects the red panda in the Himalayan mountains, among others. This year funds are being raised for education in schools in Nepal and research is being done to restore habitats in eastern Nepal.

S.P.E.C.I.E.S. is an organization dedicated to helping predators around the world. The clouded leopard is one of these predators. Through wildlife cameras and local students is one of these predators. Through wildlife cameras and local students, research is being conducted in Northeast India and elsewhere. To conduct this research, several cameras are needed, as well as, for example, batteries, memory cards, laptops and salary for the students.

It is possible to adopt an animal from one of the parks. As little as €25 per year, you can become the proud adopter of one of the animals. The adoption fee benefits the animal and nature conservation projects supported by the foundation. If you want to adopt an animal, please click here.
