ZooParc Overloon opens new giraffe enclosure before summer!

ZooParc continues to invest: after the newly introduced "expedition" theme and the arrival of several felines, the park is going upmarket starting this summer. The African expedition area Ngorongoro will be enriched with the longest animals in the world: giraffes!

Giraffes are endangered in the wild. On the new plain, they will be joined by a group of Brazzameer cats, an African species of monkey. Both species are part of a European breeding program, which helps protect the species. Preparations for the new area will begin in mid-March and be completed before the summer vacations.

Combination Residence

It is unique that giraffes and Brazzameer cats share an enclosure together. Not only is this fun for visitors to see, but such an enclosure provides positive behavioral enrichment for the animals. Meerkats are often confused with meerkats. However, they are a species of African monkey.

Eye to eye

Visitors will soon be able to admire the animals very closely both in their indoor enclosure and on the large plain. An elevation will be created in the indoor enclosure so that visitors can admire the animals at eye level. Adjacent to the giraffe plain will be a "stranded bus" in which visitors can enjoy a snack and a drink together with the animals. In fact, a feeding area will be created on top of the bus for the giraffes. This way you can admire the African animals from up close!
