"I am Quasimodo and today I come to ZooParc to find my Valentine! In France, I unfortunately failed to find my great love. In ZooParc I hope to have a better chance with the females. Will you come and encourage me during this search?"
Friendly crank monkey
Quasimodo is a friendly spider monkey and has one special characteristic that makes him stand out from the crowd: his hunchback! Unfortunately, partly because of this, he hasn't had much luck in love and is hoping for another chance in ZooParc. Hopefully with his bright blue eyes he can attract more females here.
Discover Quasimodo during your expedition!
Quasimodo arrived at ZooParc on February 14, 2017 as the first spider monkey, several more females will follow in the future. Quasimodo will have to get used to it in the first week, but from spring break onwards he can definitely be admired during the expedition. The spider monkeys will live in the Amazon expedition area, on the island together with the squirrel monkeys.
From Feb. 25 to March 5, the expedition guide will tell you more about these special animals. The exact time will be announced later through park information and in theZoo program.
Breeding Program
The spider monkey is an endangered species. Currently, only 32 individuals are found in European zoos. With the arrival of Quasimodo, and later females, a new breeding group is being created for the benefit of the European Breeding Program (EEP).
