New temporary exhibit at ZooParc: Safari Bricks comes to Overloon
From April 1, very special animals can be found in ZooParc Overloon. Over 40 animals made entirely of building bricks will be on display in the zoo as part of the temporary exhibition Safari Bricks.
The life-like structures can be viewed from Saturday, April 1 through Sunday, June 18. Visitors can encounter a lion, ring-tailed lemur and kangaroos, among others. The unusual animals, of which the elephant is the largest structure with more than 1,600 construction hours and nearly 150,000 bricks, can be seen throughout the park.
General manager Roel Huibers: "We can't wait to show the impressive structures to visitors. Hours of work and kilograms of building blocks go into these special structures. Some of the animals that can be found in the park will get a likeness, but there will also temporarily be new species in the park made from building bricks."
Near the structures are signs with information about the number of bricks used for the structure, the number of construction hours and the weight. There is also an educational edge to this special exhibit as visitors learn more about the species.
