Ring-tailed lemur Ernie independently on expedition outside ZooParc Overloon

Ring-tailed lemur Ernie recently moved from collegapark Dierenrijk to ZooParc Overloon. A few days ago he got to meet his new family and explore his new home. However, Ernie showed even more monkey-like behavior than his congeners...

Inexplicably, Ernie escaped from the "Boabab" expedition area and managed to leave the park through the trees for a real expedition through Overloon.

A ring-tailed lemur is a friendly species and easily recognized by its black and white ringed tail. People who spot Ernie in Overloon or the surrounding area are asked to call 0478-640046 or send an email toinfo@zooparcoverloon.nl Including the location, time and phone number.

Update Monday, July 11, 2016 -

Ernie was spotted by Alies Ligtvoet, employee, at the Overloon Schaartsven recreation area. With a healthy snack, she managed to lure him into her pannier to bring him back to Expedition ZooParc. The photo shows zookeeper Tom overjoyed that Ernie came home in one piece from his adventure!
