Over €13,000 raised for Red Panda Network!
Each year, one of Stichting Wildlife's conservation projects is highlighted. In 2018, that was the Red Panda Network. ZooParc Overloon raised a whopping €13,705 for the red pandas!
With multiple actions, staff, in collaboration with Stichting Wildlife, raised a whopping €13,705 in 2018. This amount was donated to Red Panda Network.
ZooParc organized special activities last year to support the project. These were activities such as:
Selling special panda straps, more than 3,500 of which have been sold
Hosting a panda breakfast
The twilight tours, where visitors were given a tour of the park after opening hours
The panda dinner, where visitors could enjoy a deluxe 5-course dinner overlooking the giraffes
The sponsor run of elementary school Sint Jozef from Holthees. They raised almost €1000!
Red Panda Network
Red Panda Network operates in Nepal, protecting the red panda and their habitat in the Himalayan Mountains through education and cooperation with local people. They conduct research on red panda numbers, provide education in schools, for example, and they restore habitats, such as planting forests that have been cleared for agriculture. They also work with the local population to develop sustainable agriculture. This way, no new pieces of forest are cut down each time.
2019: SANCCOB
After the Giraffe Conservation Foundation in 2017 and the Red Panda Network in 2018, the Southern African Foundation for the Conservation of Coastal Birds (SANCCOB) is up next in 2019! This foundation is dedicated to seabirds in South Africa, especially the black-footed penguin. Will you, along with ZooParc, support seabirds this year?
