ZooParc Overloon opens doors to season ticket holders May 13

May 11, 2020 - ZooParc Overloon can reopen its doors to season ticket holders on Wednesday, May 13. From Monday, May 18, regular visitors can also visit the park again. To guarantee maximum capacity, visits are only possible after online registration.

The zoo has been preparing for the reopening for the past few weeks and is all set to welcome guests again. "We have designed the park so that both visitors and employees can have a very nice day in a good, safe and responsible way within the rules of the one-and-a-half-meter society," says general manager Roel Huibers.

PreparedThe park closed its doors on March 14 due to corona measures. In the intervening weeks, the zoo prepared for the one-and-a-half-meter society. For example, a maximum number of visitors has been set. The number of people who can visit the park will be incrementally increased in the coming period.

Visitors can only enter after registering online. Moreover, to prevent too many people from being at the entrance at the same time, time slots will be used, including for season ticket holders and people who have bought a ticket through promotional partners. This reservation itself, of course, costs nothing. "And once you are inside, you don't have to look at your watch," Huibers assures. "There is no maximum time on a visit. So visitors can enjoy the park and the animals at their own pace."

Crowd managersTo ensure that everyone can keep enough distance, a mandatory walking route has been set up in the zoo and specially appointed crowd managers will see to it that no group formation occurs. There will also be no feeding demonstrations for the time being and indoor enclosures such as stables will remain closed. The terraces will remain closed for a while, but visitors can pick up food and drinks. Sanitary facilities are also open.

Says Huibers, "We are convinced that with these modifications visitors can have a very pleasant, safe day out here and fully enjoy the animals and this beautiful, spacious park."
