New wine event among animals for charity at ZooParc Overloon

Overloon, May 1, 2024 - ZooParc is offering wine lovers a very special opportunity on July 6: namely, a special tasting overlooking the animals. Proceeds from this new event, called ZooVino, will go to Stichting Wildlife, an organization dedicated to the conservation of animals and their habitats at home and abroad.

Participants can try six wines at as many locations throughout the park during ZooVino. ZooParc is collaborating with Boompjes Restaurant from Overloon for this event. This restaurant will also provide the appetizers that accompany each course. All types of wine will be matched to the area where the participant is located.

Wine Expedition
General manager Roel Huibers: "The expedition areas in ZooParc always focus on a certain region of the world, such as South America, Australia and Africa. The wines served will also come from these countries or regions. In that respect, it really will be a wine expedition as well."

The event is organized by ZooParc volunteers, who are also responsible for Dinner at the Zoo and the Schemertours. "This is completely selfless: we as a zoo don't earn anything from this either, Huibers explains. "After deducting the costs, the entire proceeds go to Stichting Wildlife."

Stichting Wildlife
These activities will raise additional funds for the projects Stichting Wildlife supports, especially the 2024 Save our Asian Wildlife project, which includes nature projects around the red panda and clouded leopard.

ZooVino is open to adults only. The admission price is 45 euros, of which 20 euros goes to Stichting Wildlife. Included in the price is admission to the zoo, six tasting drinks, six snacks, a parking token and the opportunity to attend three animal feedings. Participants can also choose a non-alcoholic wine package. More information about the event ishere find.
