Over €12,000 raised for the Giraffe Conservation Foundation!

ZooParc employees have been paying extra attention to the threat of this species in the wild since giraffes came to the park.

With multiple actions, the employees in cooperation with Stichting Wildlife have now raised a total of 12,320.00 euros. Stichting Wildlife will donate this amount to the Giraffe Conservation Foundation.

Animal caretakers organized special tours of the park in recent months and cycled a brisk relay in August to raise money to protect giraffes in the wild. In the past 30 years, the population of giraffes in the wild has declined from 160,000 to 97,500 animals. The rapid population decline is caused by the increasing influence of humans in the giraffe's natural habitat. Wars, poaching, road building and mining industries are reducing the space available to the giraffes.
