Overloon zoo passes 100,000 visitor mark in 2015
ZooParc Overloon welcomed its 100,000th visitor of 2015 during the Christmas vacations. Branch manager Martin van Hees is quite satisfied with that, but wants to grow further: "With new residents such as Siberian tigers, lions and fringe monkeys, we are certainly going to attract more visitors already in 2016." In total, ZooParc Overloon is investing nearly 500,000 euros in the park in 2016.
So ZooParc Overloon passed the 100,000 visitor mark during the Christmas vacations. Roy van Gorp (37) from Gemert was the lucky one. Together with his daughters Nori (8), Dali (2) and girlfriend Mindy (34) he was warmly welcomed. To add to the celebration, the group was also offered a one-year subscription.
Grow
Van Hees looks back on 2015 with a good feeling. "In mid-February, we took over ZooParc Overloon. So since then we have counted 100,000 visitors. But our goal is to eventually grow to 200,000. We are therefore working very hard to make the park more attractive on many fronts. We do this by presenting new animals and building new enclosures. A good example was the arrival of the white tigers in 2015. The public responds very enthusiastically to all the changes. That motivates us to continue along the same path."
Siberian tigers and lions
In that context, visitors to ZooParc Overloon will come face to face with two Siberian tigers as early as spring. The Overloon Zoo is also busy preparing for the construction of a brand new enclosure for five lions that will arrive before the summer vacations. Work is also underway to develop activities that will further enhance the park experience for visitors.
Fringe monkeys
In addition, fringe monkeys are coming to ZooParc Overloon this summer. A new enclosure is also being built for them. This concerns an enclosure where visitors can walk among these equally funny and beautiful monkeys. In addition, the last bits of overdue maintenance will be addressed. In total, ZooParc Overloon will invest nearly 500,000 euros in the park in 2016.
