White-faced lemurs are not very large. Therefore, they can easily be attacked by birds of prey, for example. When threatened, they try to scare the enemy away. They do this by making themselves big. They raise their hair, arch their backs and stamp their legs on the branches.
In the wild, white-faced lemurs eat mostly fruit. They have strong front teeth and canines. With these, they can bite open hard shells. In addition to fruit, they also eat seeds, nuts and insects. Many fruits they eat with seeds and all. These seeds they excrete later, allowing new fruit trees to grow.
