Such large strides an ostrich can make when running at full speed.
Ostriches mainly eat plants, grass, seeds and leaves. But also flowers, fruits and roots. They are not really picky. Besides plants, they often eat insects and even sometimes mice or lizards. An ostrich needs about 3.5 pounds of food per day.
Ostriches cannot fly, but they can run very fast. With its long legs, it can run about 70 kilometers per hour. While running, an ostrich uses its small wings to stay balanced. At full speed, it makes strides of up to five meters!
