Afternoon nap

Hammerheads usually hunt and eat in the morning and at the end of the day. In the afternoon, they take a break to sleep. They then do so somewhere in the shade. They search for food on their own or together with their partner.

Nest builder

Hammerheads stay with the same partner all their lives. The pairs build a very large nest together. These nests can sometimes be up to 1.5 meters wide and consist of tens of thousands of twigs. Even when the hammerheads are not breeding, they are building their nest. Such a nest is usually used for several years in a row.
