    Caring father

Darwin's nandos usually live in a group of between 5 and 30 birds. During the breeding season, the males go to their own territory where they make a nest. When the nest is ready, the male mates with several females. The females lay their eggs in or around the nest. The male rolls the eggs into the nest and incubates them.
