Fat bumps

Camels have two humps on their backs where not water but fat is stored. That fat is used as a source of energy in times of food scarcity. The humps stand upright when the fat supply is at its maximum.

Sand Protection

The long eyelashes and the third, transparent eyelid protect the eyes from windblown sand. The nostrils can squeeze them together into slits to prevent sand from getting in.
