inches long is the tail of a brush hog
Both males and females have very large canines. These teeth are seven to nineteen inches long. They use these protruding teeth to dig up food and to defend themselves against enemies.
A common hog gives birth to one to six young per year. When the young are born, they have striped fur. This makes them unnoticeable in the tall grass. As the young get older, the fur turns reddish-brown.
