    Brazil nut plants

Without agoutis there might not be Brazil nuts. The fruit of the Brazil nut is very hard. There are about twenty Brazil nuts in this fruit. The agouti has very sharp and strong teeth. This makes it one of the few animals that can open this fruit. It takes out the nuts and buries them.
