ZooParc Overloon opens new aviary with arrival of Chilean flamingos

Madidi, the new expedition section at ZooParc Overloon, was officially opened on Saturday, September 19. Over forty Chilean flamingos have found their new home in the aviary. In addition to these pink-colored birds, crested grouse and cinnamon eels can also be seen in the enclosure.

The new expedition section, where visitors walk among the animals, had long been a big wish of general manager Roel Huibers. "After Australia and Madagascar, we very much wanted to give this part of the world extra exposure," he said. The South America expedition will be built in phases. After the aviary, the area will be expanded in the future. Thus, more bird species will be housed in the aviary in the future. The white-faced lemurs will also move here later.
