Stichting Wildlife at ZooParc Overloon seeks enthusiastic volunteers

Stichting Wildlife at ZooParc Overloon is looking for enthusiastic volunteers! This passionate team of volunteers is committed to conservation projects in a variety of ways. An information moment will be held on Saturday, November 18, at 9 a.m.

Stichting Wildlife's volunteer guides give guided tours at ZooParc, organize activities and supervise walk-through areas in the park. These activities focus on nature education and raising donations.

Storytelling
Volunteer Theo Bronswijk explains, "Being a volunteer is more than just those activities. In Itampolo, the area of the ring-tailed lemurs, we tell the story of the threats to this beautiful species and how simple the solution actually is. In Madidi is the Wonders Cart. The cart is filled with animal skulls, as well as skins and other animal specimens. I notice again and again that the stories we tell here, with these objects, make an impact. You really see the wonder on the faces - the Verwonderkar is not called that for nothing. That's what I really do it for!"

Record amount
Each year ZooParc volunteers choose a theme to which that year's proceeds will go. Last year it was World Land Trust Paraguay. Bronswijk: "Last year we raised a record amount of 20,000 euros. A result we are very proud of. This year is dedicated to Save our African Wildlife and we recently learned that we have already broken last year's record. Fantastic that we can achieve this with this passionate team!"

Enthusiasm
When asked what you need to meet as a volunteer, Bronswijk says, "Easy, that's enthusiasm. When you enjoy doing something, you radiate that, that makes you accessible as a volunteer and that way we can even better tell all the stories of about the conservation projects we support. And about the animals in the park, of course."
