NVD

The NVD is the organization for the 14 largest Dutch zoos and was founded in 1966. It engages in advocacy, quality assurance and promoting collectivity among its members.

NVD zoos work closely together on breeding programs, education, conservation and research. Together, member zoos have established guidelines and codes for responsible management of animal collections.

Membership in the NVD can therefore be seen as a seal of quality for a zoo. ZooParc Overloon is extremely proud to be a member of the NVD!

EAZA

In addition to the NVD, ZooParc is also a member of the European Association of Zoos and Aquaria (EAZA). This is a collaboration with zoos outside the Netherlands. Cooperation is necessary in order to properly manage the populations of various animal species. Membership in the EAZA, like that of the NVB, can be considered a seal of quality, but for European zoos. The seal guarantees the quality of nutrition, care, research, conservation and housing of animals. When animals are exchanged as part of the management program, this is preferably also done with one of the approximately 350 member zoos in Europe, which are members of the EAZA.
